The Promises of Easter
Luke 24:1-24


1. The Empty Cross
The empty cross is the promise of forgiven sins because of the love of God for you and me.
“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.” ~Luke 24:1

“I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.” ~1 Cor 15:3

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~Rom 6:23

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” ~Rom 5:8 (NLT)


2. The Empty Tomb
The empty tomb is the promise of eternal life that is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.” ~Luke 24:2-3

“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:” ~Luke 24:6

“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ~1 Cor 15:56-57


3. The Empty Burial Cloths
The empty burial cloths is the promise of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.” ~Luke 24:12

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” ~John 1:12
